FAQ

Do you have a question you would like to ask me? I like to give my clients the best possible care and experience. When it comes to mental health, there are no bad questions. See the answers to the most frequently asked questions below and don't hesitate to contact me if you have any further questions.

How does the initial consultation go?

During the initial consultation, I will ask you specific questions in order to get a comprehensive picture of the current situation. I ask about your life story, family background, professional situation and possible current stresses or problems. I also ask about your own goals and expectations of the therapy.

The initial consultation lasts 50 minutes and costs the same as a normal session.

How can I have the therapy sessions reimbursed by my health insurance company?

Full cost coverage or cost reimbursement by statutory health insurance is currently not possible. However, it is possible to have part of the costs refunded.

During the first few units, I will discuss with you the exact details about how and what exactly the health insurance company needs. Quickly listed, the health insurance company needs 1) an Application for Reimbursement of costs filled out by me, 2) the bills from the last sessions, 3) the payment confirmations for said bills, and 4) a referral for psychotherapy from the family doctor.

If you have private insurance or an international insurance provider, please contact them yourselves and ask about their regulations.

What is “Integrative Gestalt Therapy”?

Integrative Gestalt therapy is a form of psychotherapy, like Psychoanalysis, systematic family therapy, behavioral therapy, etc. The goal of integrative Gestalt therapy is to perceive and support the individual as a whole, to recognize and resolve their inner conflicts and blockages. A central task of Integrative Gestalt Therapy is to help the client become aware of the present moment and their own experiences. This is intended not only to address existing challenges, but also to promote self-confidence and personal development.

What do I need to start psychotherapy with you?

You don't need anything to start psychotherapy with me. Showing some openness, readiness and curiosity can be advantages, though.

If you have a referral from your family doctor or other test-results that you consider important, you are welcome to bring these with you, but it is not absolutely necessary.

How do I know if I need psychotherapy or coaching?

A difficult question to answer. Basically, I would approach it like this:

If you have specific mental health problems such as anxiety, depression, or traumatic experiences, psychotherapy can be helpful as it addresses the treatment and healing of mental illnesses.

Coaching focuses more on supporting the achievement of personal goals and the development of skills, for example in the professional or personal areas. It can also help manage everyday stress and build self-confidence.

How long does the therapy/session last?

One session lasts 50 minutes.

As a rule, one (1) session per week is recommended, as regularity and not-too-long intervals between sessions contribute positively to the psychotherapeutic process.

How long psychotherapy lasts depends primarily on the individual problem, the severity and type of suffering, as well as, the defined therapy goal.

Coming to psychotherapy is always voluntary and you can stop the therapy treatment at any time.

What is your cancellation policy?

I have a 48 hour cancellation policy. You can cancel the session via SMS, email, or telephone. If you cancel after the 48-hour deadline, I charge the full hour.

What else should I know?

My treatment offers apply exclusively to young adults aged 18 and above, as well as adults.

All session are held in the practice, unless we have an online appointment.
